I love Ellen DeGeneres but I have to admit that I was a little confused over the choice at first. If I were Idol I would have been fine with keeping that seat open for guest judges.
After I had time to let it ferment I am digging the Ellen pick now. Ellen will possibly keep some viewers who may have left and bring some viewers who may not have watched consistently before. She will definitely bring the jokes and lighten things up a bit. I am sure she will take a few digs at Simon when warranted. I just hope she brings the true fan perspective like she said on her show she would.
Please Ellen, don't just be another Paula and sugar coat everything! This one American Idol fan is excited to see what the season brings and you can best believe I will be watching.
